Is the Arizer Solo 2 Better than It’s Older Brother, the Solo Vaporizer? (hint: YES)
The first edition of the Arizer Solo vaporizer was a tough act to follow, but it looks like the Arizer Solo 2 is “Our most powerful portable yet!”. This dry-herb-only device has improved with digital display and better heat production, but let’s take a closer look…
Initially, vapor production is strong with a flavor that will satisfy flavor chasers everywhere. Then, of course, there’s the technology. With a LED screen and simple interface, the Solo 2 looks sleek and advanced. Most importantly, it allows much customization like precise temperature control. With this kind of pinpoint accuracy, any vaper can find his or her “sweet spot.”
The Arizer Solo 2 is a weed vaporizer only, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing because this vaporizer masters it so well.
Tell Me More
The Solo 2 is strictly a convection vaporizer, so again – dry herb only. It has a pretty typical build, with a slew of available glass stems (makes for easy cleaning and replacements).
The Solo 2 also comes with its guns loaded in the battery department. From a full charge, you can reportedly get hours of use. Note, this battery is built in internally, which makes it unswappable.
As far as bowl capacity goes, it’s what you’d expect for a typical stem design. Depending on how hard you pack it, you can fit anywhere from 0.15g to 0.8g.
Arizer replaced the seven temperature lights of the Solo I, with a LED display that not only indicates exact temperature, but also battery power and an indicator to show when the vape is ready to go.
Speaking of readiness, don’t expect to wait long before you start your session. You can expect the vape to be done heating within just 30 seconds. Compare that to the first Solo and its minimum 75 second heating time, and you’ll see why the Solo II is such a powerful improvement.
Below the large LED screen, you’ll find the easy-to-use controls, consisting of a menu button marked with an “M” and up/down arrows above and below it. The arrows allow you to change the temperature or scroll through settings in the vape’s menu. Within the said menu, you can adjust things like vape session length (5, 10 or 15 minutes), beep indicator volume, temperature units and more.
Hold down the “Menu” button and up arrow to turn on the device. This takes 4-6 seconds – a range you can adjust in your settings.
As an added bonus, Arizer sends you a small package of lavender, along with a stem to use it. It’s not a necessity, but still a nice gesture on their part.
“Sleek” doesn’t even begin to describe how the Arizer Solo 2 looks. If you compared their aesthetic, the Solo would look like it was from the stone age.
Let’s start with, quite literally, the most glaring difference – that is, the LED screen. It’s easy to read icons and intuitive controls make this vaporizer truly look like it belongs in the next generation.
Its body – although somewhat large – still fits comfortably in the hand and can seemingly handle a lot of wear and tear.
Even though the Solo II is slightly larger than some vapes out there, it’s still smaller than its predecessor, which is something to admire, considering how much more complex this new one is.
Arizer tries to step up their game in terms of portability by offering a carrying case that can be clipped on your belt. While this may keep it away from prying eyes to some degree, it’s too big to be a cell phone too bulky to be fashionable.
If you plan to transport your Solo 2, just keep it in a bag or deep pocket and use the case for protection.
Vapor Quality & Taste
This vape is a great choice for flavor chasers, as the taste the vapor creates is downright superb. But cloud enthusiasts can also enjoy this device. Those who want strong flavor can more finely (but still coarsely) grind their herb, while those who might want clouds can achieve so by keeping a whole piece of bud in the chamber.
Overall, you can’t argue that this vaporizer doesn’t deliver when it comes to performance in these categories.

Makes Me Happy
There are a lot of things that make me happy about this behemoth, and they start before you even lay your hands on the device. The instruction manual is clearly written, with large pages and pictures to make learning a snap. Compare that to the many manuals you may have dealt with over the years that were tine, grammatically confusing or downright lacking.
Arizer also did a great job transitioning to a more advanced vaping design. The controls are intuitive, while the screen is easy to read. You’ll know what you’re doing before, during and after your first session.
Another bonus worth mentioning is the vape’s insulation. No matter how hard I ran this, the body didn’t seem to overheat. This is great, both for the vape’s mechanical well-being and your personal comfort.
Makes Me Sad
Unfortunately, the Arizer Solo 2 is still rather large, so portability is virtually out of the question. It at least does come in slightly smaller than the Solo I.
While this is often the case, having no removable battery is a real inconvenience sometimes. It’s always great to be able to simply swap out batteries instead of wait for your vape to charge. Additionally, a removable battery makes repair easier, since battery issues with a built-in device would require replacement of the entire product.
The Solo II is also limited in the sense that it only works for dry herb (if you consider that aspect a negative). People who like to use dabs or oils might be better off investing in a more versatile vaporizer.
Finally, there’s the issue of the charger. The Solo 2 – unlike most vapes – doesn’t come with a USB charger. It can only be recharged through a wall outlet. There may be a mechanical reason for this, but it’s still a downer.
It’s a Wrap
Overall, the Arizer Solo 2 is a great vaporizer. The controls are intuitive, the design is sleek and the flavor is off the charts. While it does have some shortcomings, most amount to just minor inconveniences that can be overlooked with just a bit of effort.
At $239.00, the Solo II doesn’t come cheap, but if you’re a dry herb (weed) vape enthusiast looking for an amazing experience, then the purchase price is more than worth it.
If you want to buy the Arizer Solo 2 vaporizer do that only at authorized dealerships, this promises you will get an original unit (no fakes) and a valid warranty. I recommend this store, it has excellent customer service, free & fast shipping within the US and discrete packaging of course.
